National socialist

From ency.pub

National socialist may refer to:

  • A nationalist who embraces socialism, as opposed to, say, a nationalist who embraces capitalism or an international communist. A national socialist combines the nationalism of the right with the socialism of the left. The politics of Bernie Sanders, for example, have been described as national socialist. For example, Bernie opposes trade deals that he sees as detrimental to the United States. It has been said that Bernie sometimes sounds like Donald Trump.[1]
  • A member of a party describing itself as national socialist, such as Adolf Hitler's National Socialist German Workers' Party. For more on the meaning of "Nazi" in German-speaking parts of the world, see the About the term "Nazi" section in the article about the National Socialist German Workers' Party.
